Logos are the foundational element of a company's branding strategy. Corporate logos are intended to be the "face" of a company: They are graphical displays of a company's unique identity, and through colors and fonts and images they provide essential information about a company that allows customers to identify with the company's core brand. Logos are also a shorthand way of referring to the company in advertising and marketing materials; they also provide an anchor point for the various fonts, colors and design choices in all other business marketing materials.
Logos are very important in establishing relationships with new customers. If a customer is searching for a lawn services company, for example, and he comes across two companies on Google—one that doesn’t have a professional logo design and one that does—which company do you think is more appealing?
The company with a logo has an advantage because a professional logo design conveys a feeling of trust… and trust is a big reason why customers initiate a relationship with your company. Most people are willing to pay more to have a relationship with a trusted company, as opposed to working with an unknown, generic entity.
Professionally designed stationery makes a business look more credible. At Innovation Evolved, we understand how to apply the thematic design elements of your logo to your stationery in order to create an effect your customers will remember.
An investment in professionally designed stationery will pay off every time you send a letter to your customers. If you’ve ever received business correspondence on generic or cheap-feeling letterhead, you were probably left wondering whether the business was reliable. By contrast, professionally designed stationery forms a lasting impression in the minds of your customers, employees, and business partners. They’ll not only remember you, but they’ll know that they can trust you as a serious business.
Bitmap logos are images that are described by pixels - squares of color arranged in a grid. Hence when they are scaled up, they become blurred.
Vector images are images described by shapes such as circles and squares, as opposed to bitmap images which are described by pixels - squares of color arranged in a grid. The shapes are precise mathematical descriptions of the image and can be scaled without becoming blurry or "pixelated" (that blocky look that bitmap/raster images so often get when scaled up).
Vector logos are used in most aspects of graphic design and are the preferred format for printing, both on paper and on clothes. The reason for this is that while a bitmap logo can look great on the screen, which usually has a resolution of about 72 pixels/dots per inch (DPI); it will normally have to be scaled by a factor of 8 or more when printed since modern printers routinely produce resolutions of 600 pixels/dots per inch. Vector logos can handle this type of scaling without any problems while bitmap logos struggle with it.
Many forms of printing require vector input in order to work - flex printing and embroidery for example.
Vector logos are also used on the web in for example flash animations.
